This will keep your base plate from accidentally sliding off of the dovetail. To mount the dovetail, you can simply push the safety stopper down as you mount the baseplate. The spring-loaded stopper will move back into its original position after the baseplate has been mounted.Tripod Plate Mounting PointsAny tripod plate with a 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 screw can mount directly to the bottom of the dovetail. The dovetail features 7 1/4-20 screw threads and 7 3/8-16 screw threads.
